M-Cube : Goal Setting

M-Cube: Goal Setting

Today on M-Cube(Monday Morning Motivation) I will be sharing on the key to successful goal setting. Goal setting provides an opportunity to bring the future to the present so that you can deal with it today. John 3:8 says "the wind bloweth where it listeth...' Many have read this verse and misunderstood it to be that the wind doesn’t have direction and it  moves anywhere, everywhere, and so we are to live life with no direction, no focus with statement like "as the spirit leads..."  It says the wind blows where it listeth (will, wants), it moves in a particular course, direction, where he wants. It has direction and that's why even though you don't know where it's coming from or where it's going, it knows where it is going. And Jesus compared a spirit-filled believer to a wind, which simply means, even though others don't know where you are coming from or where you are going, you should know where you are going by God's revelation. Not just know, Pray, Plan and Prepare.Thank God for the Holy Spirit that reveals the future to us, but then we still need to plan and prepare. Infact the Holy Spirit helps us to make our goals and plans according to His will, because God is a God of order.

Habakkuk 2:2 says, "write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readth it." to see your visions (goals) come to pass, there are three things to do

1. Write the Vision: A dream or vision might not come to reality until it becomes a goal you set for yourself. But then it's not enough to keep this visions, aspirations, dreams in your mind. They must be Written. Commitment and determination to achieve your goals flows naturally with ease when you put your visions into writing. Even God told the prophet to write the vision down. Make sure you write your goals and visions down, don't assume you will remember. This leads to the second key

2. Make it Plain: it is good that you set goals that are bigger than you because God is a big God and doesn't speak according to the size of man but according to His capacity. Don't limit yourself by your past and don't let your background put your back to the ground. Press towards the mark of the HIGHEST calling. But then make your goals easy to comprehend, simple and clear. Have a clear statement of where you are going. Your goals must be time bound and measurable. If you've done this, then you can move to the next point

3. RUN with it: you don't crawl, stroll or walk to a goal, you run with it. Run with the vision in your life. The person that walks can be easily distracted but the one that runs cannot be distracted easily because he will have to stop to be distracted. Don't even think of sitting with your visions. Start doing something, start now. Visions don't come to pass by sitting with them or talking about them, they are realised by taking actions, running with them.

Know where you are going, write it down, make it great but simple, run with it and don't quit. Quitting is the only decision we can make that can keep us from reaching God's goals for our lives. Do have a blessed week ahead.

God's Got You

I was on a trip recently and we drove into a difficult terrain. The driver did well by maneuvering the terrain well and got us safely out of it. However, during this drifting, I doubted his professionalism to get us out safely, in fact I panicked, I gave my opinions and advise based on my experience of driving. Unfortunately, my driver will do the opposite, stating reasons why my counsel will not work and truthfully, his judgement always proves to be right and at the end he drove us safely to our destination. This experience got me to think of how many times we have given God our thoughts and advice on what he should do or should have done. We tell him the direction we feel is right for us to go and at times drag the steering with Him. God is to be trusted. The moment you make him the driver of your life, you can trust him to take you safely to a glorious destination. The terrain may be difficult, He might drive you through surprising and difficult places, just hold on and trust him. H...

Nigeria At 55: Look Back...Look Forward.

Yesterday, we celebrated our 55th independence anniversary and while pondering on what to write to commemorate our 55th independence day celebration, I discovered there are a lot of perspectives I could write from. So many topics and issues quickly raced through my mind, like, '55 Years After; How far so far?' 'Independence or Dependence, Where are we going? Etc. But in the midst of it all something exceptional dropped on my mind; which is Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving? Yes. Thanksgiving. Many would be quick to analyse, condemn, discuss and compare the state of the nation being 55 years after we got independence, well, that's not bad. But isn't it good for a man at 55 to thank God for the years past spent? Ask any 55 years old man and he will tell you it has been rough and tough, appointments and disappointments, joys and sorrows, ups and downs, successes and failures, but yet he will be grateful for the privilege of being alive to see 55. How does Nigeria fit in...
