Fathers with Legacy

Fathers with Legacy. Father's Day Special Edition with 'Yomi Oladejo
Many people before marriage prepares for almost everything except parenthood. Parenthood is another stage in life that changes the course of many marriages if not properly handled. But then does fatherhood only deals with those that have children? No!. Being a 'father' does not necessarily mean you have a child, it's a state of responsibility. Being a father is a position of responsibility and it takes a responsible person to be a correct father that will leave a lasting legacy for his children. Unfortunately many fathers around are images and representations of whom a correct father is. Therefore, for those of you that are fathers(have children already) , or those that will be fathers and those that are fathers (by taking up the responsibility of a father), you must understand that you are to function in three major capacity before you can leave a lasting legacy for your children
1. A father, A king: As a father you have authority vested in you. Sadly, many use this authority negatively and ruin both their life and the life of their children. Father, you are a king. You are not an 'ordinary' person in your house, even though you might be outside, but at home you are a king. A correct king seeks the peace and progress of his kingdom (family) and people (wife and children) . He make rules and regulations that must be followed and disobedience receives a just recompense of reward. He protects his kingdom (family), He provides for them. He ensures the smooth running of the kingdom and any threat to the peace, unity and progress is met with a well prepared approach to tackle it. A king is a planner. Don't live on assumptions, a king makes plans. A king is organised and is not just blowing about, he is blowing where he listeth(he has a bearing and direction) And finally a king leaves inheritances for his kingdom. Lasting legacies that generations to come still makes reference to.
2. A father ;a Priest: A priest is saddled with the responsibility of praying and interceding for his people, he offers sacrifices on their behalf as well as to teach his people the law of his God. If you will be a father that will leave a legacy for your children, then you must perform this role. Teach your children about the God you serve, teach them the Word of God. You  must be like Ezra, who made up his mind first to learn and to do and then to teach the Word of God. (Ezra 7:10). But then a father that will show his children that he is learning from the Word and that he is doing the word must be available to let his children see him do those things and then teach them. Fathers, please be available for children. Many wayward children are a result of their fathers not been available for them. Fathers, you have the responsibility of praying for your family. This point has been reversed as we have more women(wives) doing much of the praying in the house. Fatherhood is a responsibility of praying for others especially your family. Be at your duty post. Be at home and show your children how they can leave life successfully. Don't be carried away with the rat-race of life, for what gain is the wealth you acquire when your child is a drug baron, gets impregnated, join gangs and at the end destroy the name and wealth you've been trying to get. The greatest wealth you can leave for your children is knowledge not just western education but knowledge of God, knowledge of life, for knowledge is wealth.
3. A father; A prophet: A prophet is a specially anointed man that receives instructions, directions from God. Infact, they are custodian of God's secret (Amos 3:7). As a father, you must be able to receive instructions from God and provide direction for your children. Don't be a false prophet, be a correct father. There is a grace upon fathers that is not on those that are not. Utilise this grace to the maximum, get revelations from God and explain to your children.
The truth is if you are a child of God, you had been made a king, a priest and a prophet (Rev.1:6), so the responsibility is to live as whom you are. Wondered why Abraham was God's 'favourite'? Infact, God himself said He can't hide what he wants to do from Abraham. The reason is simple. God said ' I know him (Abraham) , that he shall command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgement : that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him' (Gen 18:17-19). That is Fatherhood. And also remember that even before Abraham gave birth he had trained his servants also. (Gen 14:13). Remember, A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children...(Proverbs 13:22). Leave a legacy and an inheritance for your children by being spiritually and physically responsible and your generation and generations after you will call you blessed.
Happy Father's Day.

Career Fulfilment

Many of us work an average of eight (8) hours a day five (5) days a week between the age of 18 to 65. The amazing fact about this is that we spend a total of 100,000 hours of our lifetime working. Can you then imagine doing something that doesn’t give you fulfilment? One of the keys to career fulfilment therefore is to enjoy what you're doing. It's burdensome to be doing what you don't like or created to do. It's totally frustrating and time wasting. And that's the reason many people are not productive in their work. When I said productive, I'm not talking about acquiring material possessions because even some that engage doing what they don't enjoy doing have been able to acquire cars, built houses and have the 'toys of life'. Productivity here is mind creativity; a sense of fulfilment, a sense of joy that comes from doing what you are wired or created to do.  This is the difference between those working to make a living and those working to make ...

GETTING IT RIGHT Pt 3; Just before you Jump

Today, I will be concluding on the series Getting it Right. I hope you've been blessed reading and ruminating on it. Remember, it's not the reader that is blessed but the doer. Don't just read for reading sake, share it with others and do what is required of you. Let's consider the last temptation the devil gave and see how we are copying that too. 3. The devil said, if you are the Son of God jump down for the scripture says he shall give his angels charge over thee and in their hand they shall bear thee up, lest at anytime thou dash thy foot against a stone. But Jesus said, thou shalt not tempt the Lord your God. For some of us that think the devil does not know the scripture, you must have realised how wrong you're from that verse. I don't think it's right to compare ourselves with the devil but on a serious note how will the devil know the scripture and you the child of God, the owner of the Words doesn't know it not to talk of quoting it ver...
