Lifting Up

While discussing with a friend late last year, I was told of the prophecy concerning the nation’s economy. Interestingly what was prophesied (economic meltdown), is already coming to pass. Just two months and it seems everything has crumbled. The nation’s economy has been on a fast decline and even the foetus in the womb could feel it. What of deaths? You will agree with me that many lives were lost these two months that makes one ponder on the brevity of life.
All these are not new to humanity. It has happened before and there were some individuals that were not affected by the economic situation. There was economic meltdown in the days of Abraham, yet he was the richest, he wasn't affected. It happened in the days of Isaac, yet he was exempted, he rather became wealthier to the extent that the people of the country began to envy him. It happened in the days of Jacob, yet Jacob had enough money to buy food in Egypt while others are exchanging lands and lives for food.
Moreover, there was no economy in the wilderness not to talk of economic meltdown, yet the children of Israel; millions of them, were fed twice daily for 40 years. Also, 5000 people were fed in the midst of scarcity with just 5 loaves and two fishes.  Let me say this, economic conditions is irrelevant when you're operating in the covenant. You too can have the same experience. It's simple, don't live in the economy live in the covenant.
God had said about you in psalm 37:19, "they will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough" (NLT)
Did you see that?
The will of God is that even in this economic meltdown you will have enough for yourself and for others as well.
Furthermore, scriptures says in Philp. 4:19 'And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus '(NLT). He will supply all your needs but notice this He won't supply your needs according to the economy of the nation but according to his glorious riches. Ever imagined how glorious God's wealth or riches is? The wealth of the world combined multiplied by hundred is still nothing compared to God's riches.
Now, how do you live in the covenant?  From the scriptures, two similar scenarios happened in the third month and bless God we are also in the third month.
Exodus 19:1- 6
“In the third month…And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself.  Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine…”

The first time God came down to show his splendour to the Israelite was in the third month. And the first instruction He gave was that they should be obedient to His voice and to keep His covenant. And as long as the Israelite kept God's word they were always winning, enjoying God's blessings and preservation.
2Chron 15:9-15
“So they gathered together at Jerusalem in the third month…Then they entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul…And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought Him with all their soul; and He was found by them, and the Lord gave them rest all around”

After periods of turmoil, the children of Israel gathered together in the third month and entered a new covenant with God to seek him with all their heart and soul. And the result was evident. Scriptures says the Lord gave them rest all around. Financial rest, rest from famine and troubles.
We live in God’s covenant through obedience to God's word and by seeking Him. Know this, obedience is the key to enjoying heaven on earth in the midst of crises. Isaiah 1:19 says "if ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the Land"
Regardless of how bad things turn, there will still be some people that will live in prosperity, not just getting along but riding above the situations and circumstances. They are not people that got riches by quick-fix or through corrupt means because I don't consider those ones as being prosperous. The ones I’m talking about are those that live in the covenant of God; obeying God and walking in his instructions. They will enjoy abundance, there needs will be met and they will have the peace of God within that even in the storm they will not be moved; very relaxed like Jesus was when the boisterous wind attacked his boat.
Therefore, I strongly believe that this year is still going to be an amazing and glorious year for you regardless of what situations and circumstances are saying presently. Just another word for you in Isaiah 51:14 (NLT) "…Imprisonment, starvation, and death will not be your fate!"
And remember “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up...”
Have a Heaven on Earth experience this month of March.

God's Got You

I was on a trip recently and we drove into a difficult terrain. The driver did well by maneuvering the terrain well and got us safely out of it. However, during this drifting, I doubted his professionalism to get us out safely, in fact I panicked, I gave my opinions and advise based on my experience of driving. Unfortunately, my driver will do the opposite, stating reasons why my counsel will not work and truthfully, his judgement always proves to be right and at the end he drove us safely to our destination. This experience got me to think of how many times we have given God our thoughts and advice on what he should do or should have done. We tell him the direction we feel is right for us to go and at times drag the steering with Him. God is to be trusted. The moment you make him the driver of your life, you can trust him to take you safely to a glorious destination. The terrain may be difficult, He might drive you through surprising and difficult places, just hold on and trust him. H...

Nigeria At 55: Look Back...Look Forward.

Yesterday, we celebrated our 55th independence anniversary and while pondering on what to write to commemorate our 55th independence day celebration, I discovered there are a lot of perspectives I could write from. So many topics and issues quickly raced through my mind, like, '55 Years After; How far so far?' 'Independence or Dependence, Where are we going? Etc. But in the midst of it all something exceptional dropped on my mind; which is Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving? Yes. Thanksgiving. Many would be quick to analyse, condemn, discuss and compare the state of the nation being 55 years after we got independence, well, that's not bad. But isn't it good for a man at 55 to thank God for the years past spent? Ask any 55 years old man and he will tell you it has been rough and tough, appointments and disappointments, joys and sorrows, ups and downs, successes and failures, but yet he will be grateful for the privilege of being alive to see 55. How does Nigeria fit in...
